The Kindred team is proud to welcome their first General Manager for Kindred Resort in Keystone: Dan Dohner.
Dan has more than 25 years of experience in the Hospitality industry, including serving as Director of Hospitality Development for Vail Resorts from 2010 to 2012, where he led tactical corporate management of the Hospitality division, developed the RockResort brand standards, and worked on the underwriting of the Kindred project.
Most recently, Dan worked for Sage Hospitality Group as the General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn Union Station in Denver, Colo. In this role, Dan was responsible for revenue growth, building a high performing leadership team, and improving customer experience scores. Prior to that, Dan was the General Manager of the Ranahan in Breckenridge, Colo., where he led all of the opening aspects of the luxury hotel, including staffing and resourcing the property for a successful opening. Dan has spent most of his career working at ski resorts, including Snowbird, Deer Valley, Killington, Snowmass/Aspen, and several Vail Resorts mountains.
In his role at Kindred, Dan will oversee all aspects of the pre-opening process for Kindred, a RockResort that is currently under construction and is set to open next year. His experience with the opening of mountain properties will be instrumental in the smooth and successful opening of Kindred, one of the most exciting new slopeside luxury lodging properties in the US.
In addition, Dan brings a focus on and proven success with financial growth, operational excellence, guest service, and owner relationships, which are all leadership qualities that will serve him, his team, and the company well.
Dan and his family moved to Colorado 14 years ago so Dan could work for Vail Resorts. Together with his wife Laura, they have raised their two children, Aaron and Jacquelyn, to be avid skiers, both of which hope to start snowboarding this year.
