A large crowd gathered in River Run Village in the early morning hours on Wednesday, Nov. 1 for free donuts, music and the opening day of Keystone Resort’s 2023-2024 ski & snowboard season.
It was a festive gathering with an excited crowd of skiers and snowboarders, all eager for their first turns of the season. It’s the start of an exciting season for Keystone with the debut of the Bergman Bowl Express lift and the new Town of Keystone later this season, as well as the soon-to-open in 2025 Kindred Resort, as Keystone’s new base area and social hub.
.
We watched the opening day festivities from the penthouse floor of Kindred’s West Tower and it was amazing to be in the heart of the action, but with an elevated view. Keystone offered 2 miles of skiing and riding terrain, with a hike-to terrain park experience, as well as a mountain-top learning area. The River Run Gondola was running, along with the Montezuma Express. At this point, skiers and riders still need to download the Gondola, but Keystone plans to open the lower part of the mountain soon (we’re hearing rumors that we’ll be skiing top to bottom by next week, maybe even by this weekend).
