Statement from the Artist

Influenced by art history as well as folk and popular illustration, Tucek’s work is imaginative and expressive, with a strong interest in how time and perception shape experience. Moving between drawing and painting, abstraction and representation, her work creates playful, dreamlike scenes that invite viewers to pause and explore. Much of her practice focuses on the relationship between time and observation, and how what we see can shift depending on perspective. Recent works emphasize intuitive, spontaneous mark making and a sense of the absurd, using familiar symbols like rainbow as visual anchors within layered, evolving compositions.
