Newly minted town sets sights on year-round vitality

Keystone is stepping up its game.
The popular ski resort, now officially its own town, opened the highly anticipated Bergman Express lift last season, and is on the verge of welcoming a luxury slopeside hotel and condo development next to the River Run Gondola.
The Bergman Express, named for the late Keystone co-founder Bill Bergman, is a high-speed six-passenger chair that provides access to 555 acres of high-alpine terrain in the Bergman and Erickson bowls. It was the first lift access expansion since the Outback Express opened in 1991. The project also included a new sustainable patrol hut, new snowmaking infrastructure and a new trail map.
